The disappointing Mets (31-41) entered Friday’s game 12 games behind the NL East-leading leading Nationals and 14 1/2 games behind the Rockies for the second wild card. The results? A pending fire sale.

According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, the Mets are looking to sell on several big names other than Yoenis Cespedes before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

Notably absent from the list as well is Matt Harvey, who is under contract until 2018, but has been a disappointment on and off the field this year.

For now the names the Mets are shopping are Curtis Granderson (.225, 9 HR), Jay Bruce (.269, 19 HR), Asdrubal Cabrera (.244, 6 HR) and Addison Reed (2.72 ERA, 11 saves).

This group will be the biggest obstacle for what Shanahan wants to accomplish offensively in Year 1, but it’s bound to be improved from last season. Left tackle Joe Staley is near the end of the line. He turns 33 in August but is getting a chance to rebound from his pass protection struggles. Right guard Josh Garnett, a 2016 first-rounder, is the top rebuilding block.

As for the rest, former Ravens starter Jeremy Zuttah (31 in June) adds some respectability and stability. He or Daniel Kilgore, their best lineman from last season, will start at center, with the other kicking to left guard to replace ineffective Zane Beadles. Although third-year man Trent Brown has some upside at right tackle, the 49ers will try to bring out his youthful best in a competition with former Seahawk Garry Gilliam. It was more duct tape than overhaul around Garnett, so offensive line remains a major work in progress.
